Our Guitars

 

        J-Dub guitars are all made to order, custom built to your specifications. We can create

an instrument that fits you, your musical style, and your design. We have built 6, 7,  and 12-string guitars, bass guitars, and Ukeleles. We love a challenge.

           

        Since our guitars are custom made, you are relatively free to specify what you want, including the wood species and the finish. We will discuss your needs in order to generate a specification that is uniquely yours

                      

        We love to make new body shapes and one-offs. It's usually not much more money to

build these, so please ask and let us discuss this option with you if you are interested.

           

        We have some great koa wood on hand and more available. This is very special wood,

over 30 years in storage, with a beautiful grain and great tonal properties. It is definitely a

favorite of ours, but we also have rosewood, mahogany, maple, ovangkol, and many others 

available for you. Normally wood choice is sometimes limited to availability and certainly cost is a consideration.

        

          We can finish with Lacquer and also French polish (shellac). These finishes work well for instruments that require a very lightweight finish such as acoustics and particularly Nylon Classical instruments. Lacquer works well on Electric solid body and also semi-hollow styles. Also Polyester and polyurethane are good solid body finishes for maximum durability.

            

        If you are in the area, you can come by and play some of the guitars we keep on hand

as “Shop Demos”. We try to keep a dozen instruments on hand, and sell them if we get too
